Which probate documents do you need? There are several, including a petition for probate, petition to administer the estate or an affidavit for collection or transfer of personal property.

Probate generally involves the settlement of a decedent’s debts and the distribution of a decedent’s "owned” property.  Of particular concern is the ownership of the property, its value and whether or not it will be distributed according to an existing will.  If the individual dies intestate (no will), the court will assign an executor to legally represent the estate which may be in the form of real property and/or bank or stock assets.  Tell us what probate documents you need help with.
